For the first time since 1999, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state is having a very strong challenger in the All Progressives Congress (APC). Traffic at the motor parks is very high, while activities at party offices are almost zero, except for the briefing PDP held yesterday. Action has shifted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) at Bank Avenue, which is now a beehive of activities. At the INEC office in Calabar, large number of adhoc staff gathered in preparation to travel to their various councils for today’s election. In Uyo, journalists, observers and few adhoc staff gathered for accreditation.
